Today, the Water Committee hosted Eva Schneider, Head of the Urban and Economic Development Division of the German development bank KfW, Barbara Palm, Head of KfW Water Programmes in Armenia, and Zara Chatinyan, a representative of KfW’s office in Armenia.

The meeting centered on the current status and existing issues of the Kaps Reservoir construction project, as well as several options for the project’s further course. The parties agreed on the need to find urgent solutions and ensure the safety of the facility.

The final-stage issues of the “Community Infrastructure Programme II, Phase 3 – Armenia Water Supply and Sanitation Infrastructure Programme” were also addressed.

KfW partners inquired about the Chairman’s vision for sector reform and which international programmes are planned in the near future. In response, programme directions of mutual interest and opportunities for further cooperation were outlined.
