Under the leadership of Chairman Aramazd Ghalamkaryan, the leadership of the Water Committee conducted a working visit to Lori region.

During the visit, construction works of Daily Regulation Reservoirs (DRRs) were reviewed: a 50,000 m³ DRR in Ardvi settlement of the enlarged Alaverdi community, and a 20,000 m³ DRR in Khnkoyan settlement of Spitak community.

Construction is already in the final stage. Both are scheduled for commissioning in 2026 before the irrigation season.

Construction of DRRs is being implemented in view of the scarcity of irrigation water and growing demand. The project plays an important role in ensuring sustainable use of water resources and improving environmental efficiency.

The visit included a meeting with Lori Governor Aren Mkrtchyan to discuss urgent issues and new cooperation opportunities. The parties underscored the importance of joint efforts to improve the system and ensure successful implementation of joint programmes.

At the end of the working visit, the Water Committee representatives also visited the Lori Water User Association.
